Minneapolis Jazz Guitar Duo (MJGD) consists of David Martin and Serdar G. The group plays their interpretations of jazz standards. 

David is a guitarist and bassist, originally from the Ohio/West Virginia area. Most of the last 25 years he has been in Minneapolis playing all styles on both instruments. He was in Portland, OR in 2008-’09 where he’s recorded 3 CDs with fellow guitarist Mike Doolin. Their newest CD is ‘Dark Star‘ (2016). David’s newest CD is ‘Play On‘ (2019) with vocalist Vicky Mountain. He recently received a 2020 Artist Rescue Trust Grant, a 2020 and 2021 Twin Cities Music Community Trust Grant, a 2020 Springboard for the Arts Grant, and a 2020 Working Partnerships USA Grant.

Locally, he plays in Salsa del Soul, DAT Trio, The Bill Simenson Orchestra, Minneapolis Jazz Guitar Duo,and accompanies many vocalists around town such as Maryann Sullivan, and Vicky Mountain. He also does a variety of music at several churches in the Twin Cities area.

Serdar G is originally from Ankara, Türkiye. Fascinated by the Blues music, he moved to US to pursue music. He has played in well known Reggae, Calypso and Soca Bands. Some of these bands include Cyril Paul and the Calypso Monarchs, Shangoya and two time Minnesota Music Awards winner Dred I Dread. Serdar has been playing guitar with Dred I Dread since 2001 and released 4 albums with the band. Serdar opened for The Wailers, Yellowman, Israel Vibration, The Meditations, Itals, Culture, De La Soul, Chronixx and many other international acts.
